SAPULPA - Sapulpa Public Schools went on lockdown Tuesday, but no reason to be alarmed.

Deputy superintendent Larry Smith said a man thought to be walking around with a rifle was actually carrying a walking stick and a string.

Smith said the high school, junior high, middle school and two elementary schools were locked down for about an hour.
