A Sand Springs man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly throwing fireworks in the direction of two children.
Joel Keith McCoy, 26, was arrested after a woman saw a vehicle drive past her residence where two children were playing in the front yard. She then saw McCoy light a firework and throw it out of the window toward the children, according to Sand Springs police.
The firework landed near the children and then exploded. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Sand Springs police located McCoy and who admitted to throwing the lit firework out of the passenger vehicle.
Police searched the vehicle he was in and found two M-150 firecrackers, as well as a set of digital scales and a small bindle of green leafy substance, which police believe to be marijuana.
McCoy was booked on a felony complaint of possession of marijuana (second offense) and misdemeanor complaints of possession of paraphernalia and unlawful discharge of fireworks.
His bond was set at $1,500.
