TULSA - A Tulsa man accused of an attempted rape on a Sand Springs running trail has been formally charged.
Prosecutors charged Steven Ray Bowes with kidnapping, robbery with a firearm, assault with a dangerous weapon and attempted forcible sodomy Wednesday.
Bowes, 49, was arrested Friday after a week-long search for a man matching his description. According to the 20-year-old alleged victim, the suspect cornered her in a wooded area and made a number of sexual demands, even producing a gun and a knife.
The woman managed to get away during a reported struggle.
Bowes, who's being held on $150,000 bond, is due in court Friday.
