SAND SPRINGS, Okla. - A young boy at the center of an Amber Alert in Sand Springs is back in Oklahoma, according to the Department of Human Services.
Decklan Connor, 6, was found safe Wednesday morning in Lewisville, Texas and his father was taken into custody.

Authorities say Robert Connor III shot and killed Connor's grandmother Tuesday evening at a home in Sand Springs, then took off with the boy. They were found at a hotel in Lewisville and around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday Robert Connor surrendered to police.
Robert Connor is being charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping in Osage County. It will be more than a week before he is expected to be extradited to Oklahoma.

Decklan Connor was placed in protective custody before being returned to family members in Oklahoma. He and his 10-year-old brother were being cared for by their grandmother, Deborah Connor, before she was killed.
