Sand Springs development plan evolving

Sand Springs, Okla. - The Sand Springs City Council must now decide if, and how, to move forward with a new development plan.
City manager Rocky Rogers wants to improve a large area stretching from downtown to near the Arkansas River.
He wants to turn the area into a pedestrian and biker friendly place that's both safe and vibrant.
The plan is still in the very early stages.
"I believe it's in the council's heart," Rogers said. "It's in the staff's heart to move forward and I think it's in the citizens' hearts to see things done and changed in Sand Springs."
The development could be funded, in part, by Vision2 , if that passes on November 6.
It could also be funded by a property tax increase.
