TULSA - An American Airlines bankruptcy hearing scheduled for Friday has been postponed.

A federal bankruptcy judge was scheduled to rule Friday on whether the company could break its current contracts with pilots and other union workers.

The ruling has now been pushed back to July 29.

The decision will affect about 6,000 union workers in Tulsa.

The airline's parent company, AMR, filed for bankruptcy protection last November.
