ROGERS COUNTY, Okla. - Nearly a dozen suspected illegal immigrants were arrested Monday morning during a traffic stop along Interstate 44.
The Rogers County Drug Interdiction Team stopped a van headed east near 193rd East Avenue.
The vehicle was crowded with people and Sheriff Scott Walton says none of their stories to investigators were consistent.
Agents with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement believe the group entered the United States illegally from Mexico.
"The Interdiction Team, in the short time we've had it, they've been very successful in their finds of money, narcotics, contraband and fugitive with warrants from other states," said Walton.
In all, 10 immigrants were taken into custody and they will remain in the Tulsa County Jail until they are deported.
