TULSA - Tulsa police are investigating a string of car break-ins near South Yale Avenue and Skelly Drive.
Police say around a dozen cars were broken into sometime Sunday morning at the Baymont Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, and Tulsa Select Hotel.
A witness reported seeing a man in his 20s and wearing long, black shorts in the area around the time of the break-ins.
Police believe the man used a pry bar or screwdriver to enter through the driver's side or passenger windows. The suspect then rummaged through the vehicles and took items that were handy, police say.
Blood was recovered from the scene of one of the break-ins.
Officers say one of the hotels might have caught the crime on surveillance cameras. The footage will be turned in to detectives.
Sergeant Ted Umbarger said this crime is unusual because it seems many of the break-ins happened in the daylight hours around 6:30 a.m.
