TULSA - Tulsa police have made an arrest in connection to the death of 34-year-old man in north Tulsa late Friday night.
Michael Reco Lyke was arrested Saturday for possession of a firearm after a former conviction of a felony.
Police say the victim, James Mario Parker, 34, was found on the front porch of a home near 53rd Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard around 11 p.m. He was transported to a local hospital and later died.
Investigators say Parker and Lyke were involved in a confrontation and believe both men were armed with handguns. Shots were exchanged and Parker was shot and ran to another residence about a block away.
Police say Lyke fled the scene before their arrival. He was located later at a motel near 11th Street and Garnett Road.
The investigation is still ongoing.
This is Tulsa's 35th homicide this year.
