OWASSO, Okla. - Owasso police arrested a 44-year-old man on charges of child abuse by a caregiver, saying the man beat his sons with hangers and poked them with nails.
Police were called to Lee Thao's apartment around 9:15 p.m. Friday after someone reported what they believed to be a man beating his wife and children screaming.
When officers arrived, they found Thao and his two sons in the apartment.
Police say the boys told them that Thao had beaten them because the two boys had been fighting.
Investigators say Thao hit the boys on the arms with plastic hangers, poked them several times on the forearms with a nail, hit them with a toy shotgun and a chord from a cell phone charger.
The boys' mother was at work during the incident.
Thao is being held on $25,000 bond in the Tulsa County jail.
