OWASSO, Okla. - The Owasso City Council has voted to put its city manager on administrative leave.
The council is set to launch an investigation into Rodney Ray following a complaint from a city employee.
The decision was made at a special meeting Friday afternoon.
The mayor won't elaborate and Ray told us he's keeping a positive outlook.
"I love this community,” Ray said. “I would never do anything to hurt it and I look forward to this coming about ending in a way that will put me right back where I've been for the last 23, 24 years."
Ray was hired by Owasso in 2002 but worked for other cities before that.
Assistant City Manager Warren Lehr is now acting city manager.
