OKMULGEE, Okla. - Oklahoma State University leaders are breaking ground Tuesday on a new addition at the OSU-Institute of Technology in Okmulgee.
The Chesapeake Energy National Gas Training Center is being funded by a $2 million gift from the Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake Energy Corporation.
OSU officials say the training center is the first of its kind, providing students the opportunity to learn how to diagnose, service and maintain gas compression equipment.
Tuesday's groundbreaking takes place at 2 p.m. on the OSUIT campus.
Construction kicks off in the coming weeks.
