TULSA - A deadly house fire last week in Canadian County was ruled a homicide last week after two people died in a suspicious manner, authorities say, and the suspect was tracked to a home in Tulsa.
Derek Posey was arrested Tuesday at a home in west Tulsa. He's facing two counts of murder.
According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, investigators developed a suspect after the June 16 fire in Calumet. OSBi agents then contacted the TPD's Sex Crimes Unit.
Assisted by the Fugitive Warrants Squad, OSBI and ATF, sex crimes detectives served a search warrant at the home at 4101 S. 39th W. Ave.
Posey was located and taken into custody around 11:30 a.m. He was transported by the OSBI to the Canadian County Jail in El Reno where he is awaiting formal charges.
