FOYIL, Okla. - A one-year-old boy was attacked and severely injured by a pit bull earlier today in Foyil.
The baby was at a table with his mother and grandma when the incident occurred, said Rogers County Sheriff Scott Walton.
The dog was eating food falling from the infant's mouth when it attacked the child's head and face. The attack caused serious lacerations and could result in permanent scarring, according to police.
The boy received stitches and was released from the hospital shortly thereafter. He will undergo rabies treatment.
The dog has not had any vaccinations.
No charges are expected to be filed.
