Tulsa - The first day of school is just around the corner and the state of Oklahoma is making it a little easier on parents by cutting sales tax on many items this weekend.
Any single item less than $100 can be purchased tax free but those items must be on a pre-approved list.
For the most part, clothing and non-athletic shoes are on the approved list but items like school supplies and backpacks are not.
Some other products included are diapers, receiving blankets, costumes, rubber pants and girdles.

All retailers are required to participate in Oklahoma's tax-free weekend and many major retailers have their back to school items on sale as well.
Tax-free weekend goes through Sunday at midnight.
