SEWICKLEY, Pa. (AP) -- An Oklahoma man has been fatally shot by police who responded to a burglar alarm at a home in an upscale Pittsburgh suburb.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office says the dead man is 27-year-old Robert Brooks, of Poteau, Okla.
Police told that office the man had visited the home in Sewickley, but was under a restraining order not to return when Sewickley police answered the alarm around 9:30 p.m. Monday.
Online court records show Brooks had been charged with making threats in the borough just west of Pittsburgh last month.
Allegheny County police are investigating and say the man was shot after scuffling with officers.
Police had responded to a domestic disturbance at the home earlier Monday, but say the residents were gone when Brooks tripped the alarm.
