TULSA - A failed home invasion left one North Tulsa homeowner with a gunshot wound to the stomach early Sunday morning.
Emergency crews responded to a shooting call near 42nd and Frankfort Avenue just before 1 a.m.
Police say two black males approached the 57-year-old homeowner in his front yard and tried to force entry to the house.
The victim blocked the suspects, saving his wife - who was inside - from the encounter. In doing so, the man was shot once in the stomach.
The suspects fled the scene, but not before firing one round into the home, narrowly missing the victim's wife.
The man was transported to a local hospital, and police say they have no reason to believe his injury is life-threatening.
The suspects have been described by the victims as two black males in their early to mid teens.
