TULSA - New security improvements are scheduled to begin today at the Tulsa County jail.

The David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center will begin replacing the giant garage doors known as the sally port.

The old doors were damaged nearly a decade ago during a police pursuit.  The new doors will close in the area where prisoners are loaded and unloaded.

The entire process is expected to be complete in about two weeks.  During this time, traffic coming into the jail's prisoner area will have to be rerouted.

Officials for the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office say they have set aside just under $110,000 for the project, which is part of the capital improvement list.  The final total may be less than the total set aside.
