TULSA - A barbecue event downtown draws crowds. It's fun things like this that make Larry and Donna Kreutka consistently looking for a new place in the area.

"We're busy, we don't have time for yards, we're working, we're playing and we just like the idea of simple," Donna says.

And right in the vicinity of this barbecue, is the Lofts at 119. Saturday, developers had a pre-showing of the new model condo where they had between two to three hundred visitors. Listing agent Stephen Meltzer says they're getting a lot of couples like the Kreutka's looking to downsize in addition to other things.

"They want proximity to the facilities that exist downtown and also the facilities that they expect to exist downtown," he says.

Meltzer says many also like the idea of living more "green". Utilities at these lofts should be about 50 percent less than other homes of the same size. They also come with energy star appliances and a recycle center is on every floor. Developers say this trend is on the rise and for many couples it is the way of the future.

"I think we need to call and schedule an appointment to go look at them," says Kreutka.

The building is one year away from occupancy. Developers have sold three units already and expect to have about 7 sold by next week. The grand opening will be held on September 9th.
