MUSKOGEE, Okla. - A Tulsa woman is dead and a Muskogee man in critical condition following 2-car collision Saturday in Muskogee County.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on State Highway 16 one mile west of Muskogee as 23-year-old Sothea Mconnell was driving his 1997 GMC Yukon westbound.
His vehicle traveled left of center into the path of an eastbound 2001 Cadillac Deville driven by Tulsa resident Lesley Turay, 46, striking it head on. Turay was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mconnell was transported by helicopter to St John's Medical Center in Tulsa where he was admitted in critical condition.
According to the state trooper's report, Mconnell's vehicle bore an “odor of alcohol.”
