MUSKOGEE, Okla. - The birthplace of the girl scout cookie traces right back here to Oklahoma.
Sales of the girl scout cookie began 95 years ago in Muskogee.
It started as a service project to send care packages to soldiers during World War II and to raise money.

Today, the treats represent the largest girl-led business in the world. Profits now top $700 million a year.
