MUSKOGEE, Okla. - Muskogee police are investigating the death of a man involved in a late night fight.
According to Muskogee police, officers responding to a call reporting a fight on the 3700 block of Club Estates arrived to the scene to find 47-year-old John Wier in the parking lot and unresponsive.
Officers tried to resuscitate the man until an ambulance took him to a hospital. He was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Following the death, the body was sent to the medical examiner’s office to determine the cause, which remains under investigation.
“All subjects involved as well as witnesses have been contacted and investigators are currently following up with the medical examiner’s office to try and determine exactly what the subject died from,” said Lt. Bobby Lee. “At this time the only information we can release is that the subject was involved in a physical altercation with another subject when he collapsed and stopped breathing.”
The Muskogee Police Department said it is not releasing any further details pending the medical examiner’s findings and as the investigation is ongoing.
