Muskogee man accused of rape, sexual abuse dating back to 2006

MUSKOGEE, Okla. - A Muskogee man is awaiting a preliminary hearing after accusations he sexually abused a child for six years placed him behind bars.
Kevin Hargus, 48, faces charges of child sexual abuse, lewd molestation and forcible oral sodomy.
According to court documents, Hargus began abusing a boy under the age of 12 in 2006. The state alleges the abuse continued into last week.
The alleged victim ultimately spoke with authorities after Hargus reportedly photographed a lewd incident with the boy on his cell phone.
Hargus is expected in court Dec. 13 and has been admonished from all communication with his accuser. He is being held on $150,000 bond.
