MUSKOGEE COUNTY, Okla. - A Maysville man and woman are free on bond following their recent arrest for selling prescription drugs.
According to a deputy, the Muskogee County Sheriff's Office arrested Jimmie Sumpter and Caroline Hawbaker after investigating a tip the two were trying to sell prescription pills in the area.
Operating under cover, investigators agreed to meet the couple at a site in Oktaha and pay $6 per pill. When the couple arrived at the site with 359 prescription pills – including some Xanax, Norco, Lortab-type pills – officials arrested and held the two on possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute and unlawful delivery of a narcotic.
Authorities confiscated $4,617 in cash they found on Sumpter.
Before their release, Sumpter was held on a $30,000 bond and Hawbaker was held on $20,000 bond.
