MUSKOGEE, Okla. - U.S. Highway 69 near Muskogee was a temporary runway Thursday evening as it was the site for an emergency landing, according to the Oklahoma highway Patrol.

An experimental aircraft flown by 62-year-old Duncan Gravis of Tulsa at around 6:22 p.m. was forced to make an emergency landing in the highway's median after engine trouble forced the plane to the ground just north of the Peak Boulevard intersection.

The plane had just left Davis Field in Muskogee when its engine failed, according to the OHP.

Officials told 2NEWS the incident resulted in no injuries.
