MUSKOGEE, Okla. - Kenneth Wayne Jones, 20, turned himself into Muskogee police about 8:15 p.m. Monday.
Police named Jones as the suspect in a shooting that left a 5-year-old boy hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the back.
Cpl. Michael Mahan said Muskogee police named Jones as a suspect after officers reviewed surveillance video from the apartment complex where the shooting happened.
Monday afternoon, officers got their arrest warrant. The Special Investigative Unit and FBI geared up to go find Jones when he walked into the police station with two men.
Police booked Jones into the Muskogee County jail on one count of assault with a deadly weapon.
Neighbor Tina Patterson said she heard the shooter fire four buletts right outside her window. She believes this is a fight that escalated too quickly.
On Saturday night officers with the MPD responded to a shots fired call at Whispering Pines apartment complex. While investigating there, hospital officials called police to report a 5 year old patient with a gunshot wound arrived by private vehicle.

Police say they determined the child was leaving the complex with his mother and a man when shots were fired into the rear of the car.
Paramedics transported the boy to a Tulsa hospital where he is currently listed in good condition.
