MUSKOGEE, Okla. - An 18-year-old student at Muskogee High School is facing charges of assaulting a pregnant teenager at the school this week.
Lionel Chapman is charged with domestic assault and battery on a juvenile.
According to the affidavit, officers were called to the school Oct. 2 for a student who "was beating on a pregnant student."
The responding officer reviewed security video and noted in the affidavit he saw Chapman "aggressively grabbing, pushing and pulling" the hair of the victim.
Chapman was arrested but has since been released from the jail.
In a statement to 2NEWS, MPS spokeswoman Wendy Burton said, "The safety and welfare of our students is always our primary concern. This is an unusual charge of domestic violence on our campus involving two students. We do not tolerate this kind of behavior from our students and we appreciate the actions of our staff and campus security to handle in the situation."
