TULSA - U.S. District 2 candidate Markwayne Mullin was hospitalized in Muskogee Friday after he noticed he couldn’t swallow, Mullin for Congress campaign manager Tim Ross said.
“Unfortunately, I had to go to the hospital last night and they found that I have a small tear in my esophagus,” Mullin wrote on his Facebook page. “I'm feeling just fine and in good condition while they run a few more tests and they are telling me right now that it should heal just fine on its own. Although the situation isn't serious, I would appreciate your prayers for my healing, and for the doctors and nurses who have to deal with me while I would much rather be out campaigning ”
Mullin was transferred to a Tulsa hospital where he will recover for a couple of days, Ross said.
Once released from the hospital, Mullin will return to the campaign trail, Ross said.
