A motorist was struck and killed Monday morning on the side of Highway 412 just east of Catoosa.
Authorities on the scene said the victim pulled over on the side of westbound 412 on the east side of the Verdigris River. After exiting his truck, the man was struck by a large SUV.
Authorities say he was dragged more than 100 feet.
The man was pronounced dead on the scene.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the victim was identified as 51-year-old Ted Bowen.
Authorities believe Bowen may have intentionally stepped out into traffic.
