TULSA - Tulsa police officers said a woman was critically injured in a motorcycle accident on the Broken Arrow Expressway on Saturday.
Officers said the 46-year-old woman was westbound near the I-44 interchange when an unidentified vehicle failed to exit onto I-44 and pulled onto the shoulder before attempting to merge back onto the highway.
Police said the wreck was non-contact. It appears the motorcyclist had to avoid the vehicle as it re-entered the BA Expressway, causing her to lay down her bike.
The woman was transported to an area hospital. Police say she was unconscious at the time, but she appeared to have suffered severe head injuries.
As of Sunday morning, the unidentified woman is still on life support in critical condition.
Police closed the roadway between Memorial and Sheridan around 12:30 p.m.
Any witnesses to the accident to call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS.
