More lane closures at I-44 and Lewis

TULSA - More lane closures are planned for the construction zone at I-44 and Lewis.
Beginning Thursday morning, eastbound Skelly Drive will be narrowed to one lane just west of Lewis.
ODOT crews say a stop sign will now be placed near Wheeling Avenue, stopping traffic on Skelly and giving the right of way to drivers exiting from I-44.
Also starting Thursday morning, east and westbound 51st Street is being narrowed to one lane in both directions between Lewis and Columbia Place.
Transportation officials recommend motorists find a different route during the construction project and allow for extra travel time.
They say Peoria and Harvard are the best alternatives.
The I-44 and Lewis portion of the project is expected to continue for nearly 20 months.
