MANNFORD, Okla. - Rescue efforts are under way in Mannford after an explosion rocked a town apartment.
Mannford volunteer firefighters are at the scene, the Salt Creek Apartments in the 200 block of Hinton Boulevard.
Five people went to the hospital with burn injuries, including one woman who obtained burns to 25 percent of her body, officials say.
One man, an inactive volunteer firefighter who lives in the building next door, was burned after pulling victims to safety.
The explosion, which occurred around 5:45 p.m. Monday, has left a still-smoldering fire. One apartment has its face and upstairs completely torn off.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
