TULSA - Tulsa police have a suspect in custody in connection with a homicide near 23rd West Avenue and West Edison Street.

Reginald Ward, 23,  was taken into custody Sunday afternoon.

Officers responded to the scene just after 12 p.m. when a caller witnessed a victim being shot in the chest. Neighbors say they heard around seven shots at the time of the shooting.

The victim was later identified as Alonzo Stewart, 45. According to the Tulsa police, the suspect and Stewart had an ongoing feud and crossed paths Sunday morning.

Officials said the suspect's father convinced him to turn himself into the police.

Police are interviewing Ward and said the weapon and getaway car have been recovered.
