TULSA - Police have identified the 53-year-old man fatally shot outside of a Tulsa Papa John's Pizza early Saturday morning.
Tulsa police say Robert Horton was part of a two-man delivery team delivering supplies to Papa John's Pizza near 11th Street and Delaware Avenue. Horton was outside the store when his co-worker inside heard a loud crash around 6:15 a.m.
The co-worker went outside and found Horton lying on the ground. Thinking Horton was suffering from a heart attack, the co-worker called 911 and reported a fall with injury.
EMSA crews arriving on the scene discovered the victim had been shot in the chest twice, police say.
Horton was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Both men are from the Dallas area, officials say. Horton was from Arlington, Texas.
Police say three suspects were seen leaving the area and are currently looking for a vehicle of interest. They say they're poring over a collection of video and photographs from area business that show the suspects at the scene.
"We can tell kind of how many people are coming up over the fence at that particular time into the getaway vehicle, so rest assured that if they're looking at the video of the car leaving, we have them on video jumping the fence," said Sgt. Dave Walker with the Tulsa Police Department.
Walker said police believe the suspects live in Tulsa.
"I would think these suspects are local, so they're in and around here. Somebody's going to know something about it. Somebody's going to recognize the car. Somebody's going to know what they're up to," he said.
