TULSA - A man familiar to many in Green Country has passed away.
Veteran reporter Bill Mitchell died Friday afternoon after a lengthy illness. He spent nearly 30 years at KTUL during his two stints in Tulsa.
He was 69 years old.
Mitchell started at Channel 8 in 1972. He left in the early '80s to report in Arkansas and Oklahoma City. He returned to KTUL in 1994 and spent the rest of his career as the station's senior reporter until he retired in December 2012.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
