TULSA - Our annual Food 2 Families food drive kicks off Friday.

Food 2 Families is in its 12th year and is one of the top three annual food drives for the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.

This year 2 Works for You is teaming up with Reasor's, Tulsa Federal Credit Union and the Boy Scouts of America to provide food to needy families in Green Country.

2NEWS anchors, employees and boy scouts will collect food outside our station Friday at 3701 S. Peoria from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Our one-day collection total to beat on Friday is 9,437 pounds of food.

You can also drop off food donations, which go to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, at any Reasor's or Tulsa Federal Credit Union until Dec. 14.

Monetary donations can be made online until Jan. 13 at cfbeo.org and will be matched by the Kaiser Foundation up to $100,000.

According to the Food Bank, one in four children in eastern Oklahoma struggle with hunger and one in 16 seniors in our state have to choose between purchasing food or medicine.

Okahoma ranks 10th in the nation among adults 60 and older at risk of hunger.
