TULSA, Okla. - The Little Lighthouse is celebrating its 40th anniversary. On Saturday, the school held its annual Laps for Little Ones at Cascia Hall.
The event raises money for a building expansion. The private school is free, thank to donors. The school is for children with developmental disabilities.
"The Little Lighthouse is very much like a family and we love these kids, and their families and extended families and friends a lot of times get involved at the lighthouse while their student attends and what we find is even when their kids move on, a lot of the friends and family stay involved," Denise Wright, Chairperson of the Board of Directors said.
More than 200 runners participated. Organizers say that's the most ever in the event's 34 years.
