OKLAHOMA CITY - This is the 13th year for the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon.
Organizers have learned a lot over the years, and each time the race comes around, it continues to grow.
This year, there is an effort to incorporate a number of new elements to the annual event.
For starters, there is an art show that runs through the month of May at the Oklahoma City Memorial that features the works of former athlete turned artist, Desmond Mason.
Also new this year, organizers have updated the finishers medals. That was an idea they came up with while organizers were in Tulsa watching the Route 66 Marathon.
2News Anchor Russ McCaskey talked with Kari Watkins, the executive director of the Oklahoma City Memorial about the new additions to this year's event.
