TULSA - The Indian Nations Council of Governments (INCOG) is hosting a major summit Wednesday on Compressed National Gas, or CNG, right here in Green Country.
About 260 business and government leaders from around the country are expected at the OU Schusterman Center in Tulsa for the event.
Organizers say they want everyone who attends to be able to make informed decisions on CNG.
They plan on discussing everything CNG-related from fueling options to the vehicles currently available.
"This is being held here because Oklahoma is the third largest producer of natural gas in the country," said Meredith Webber with INCOG. "It's Oklahoma's fuel. It drives our economy and Oklahomans should be driving on CNG."
Right now there are 11 public CNG filling stations in the Tulsa area as well as several private stations.
INCOG reports that a gallon of CNG can cost less than $1.60.
