14-year-old arrested in Jenks murder, home invasion

JENKS, Okla. - A 14-year-old has been arrested for his involvement in a Jenks murder and home invasion. 

Tulsa County Sheriff's Office investigators say the boy faces charges of first-degree murder, second-degree burglary and larceny of an auto.

The arrests come after authorities questioned suspects Tuesday afternoon concerning the death of a 47-year-old woman, Mary Escue, whose body was found around 11:45 p.m. in a home near 111th and Peoria.

Authorities on the scene said Escue, who lived in Nevada, was visiting her parents. They say when her parents came back home from a night out, their daughter was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Escue was in town visiting her children and going to a graduation at the University of Tulsa.

Tulsa County investigators were called to the Sapulpa area Tuesday, where they discovered the victim's 2009 Chevrolet Malibu and other items believed to belong to Escue.

According to police, the teenager told police he had broken into the home through a bathroom window to look for money and found four guns.

It was then when Escue returned to the residence and the teen surprised her, forced her into the computer room at gunpoint and shot her.

He admitted to stealing money from her wallet, taking the gun he used to shoot her and stealing her car.
