TULSA - Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. and Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. announced Sunday they have entered into a definitive merger agreement where Hertz would acquire Dollar Thrifty, officials announced.
The deal is worth $2.3 billion.
The Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group has maintained a significant presence in Tulsa since launched in 1958, Tulsa Metro Chamber CEO Mike Neal said.
“Tulsa maintains a competitive advantage with its highly-skilled workforce, low cost of living and support available to new and existing companies,” Neal said.
Dollar Thrifty currently provides $100 million in payroll to 780 employees in the Tulsa region and in local services outsourced, Neal said.
It is not known whether any Tulsa jobs would be cut due to the merger.
