TULSA - A small helicopter leaving Tulsa International Airport Wednesday suffered a mechanical malfunction shortly after takeoff, nearly crashing it onto the runway.
A TIA official said the pilot was forced to emergency land the chopper around 5:30 p.m. when its rear rotor gear box fell off.
No passengers were on board and the pilot manage to walk away from the incident.
