TULSA - A Tulsa teenager facing a first-degree murder charge in the death of his mother pleaded not guilty Friday.
Henry "Hank" Laird, 17, is accused of beating his 56-year-old Linda Laird to death with the butt of a shotgun. She was found dead last Tuesday inside her south Tulsa home.
Laird and his friend, 19-year-old Josiah Sklar, were at the home when relatives made the discovery. They quickly left the scene.
The next day both Sklar and Laird were arrested.
According to the police report, Sklar told investigators he was present when Laird beat his mother with the shotgun.
Sklar is due in court Feb. 4. He has not been officially charged.
Both suspects are being held in the Tulsa County Jail without bond.
Laird is scheduled to return to court March 14.
