OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Oklahoma City Thunder have chosen Perry Jones III from Baylor with the 28th pick in the NBA draft, adding a player whose stock fell because of a reported knee problem.

Jones averaged 13.5 points and 7.6 rebounds last season as a sophomore as Baylor made it to the round of eight in the NCAA tournament. He had been considered a possible lottery pick after his freshman season before deciding to return for another year with the Bears.

The 6-foot-11 forward also provides a front court option in case the Thunder aren't able to re-sign NBA blocks leader Serge Ibaka, who is eligible for a contract extension starting next month and would be a restricted free agent after next season.
