TULSA - For many. the day to rock out is finally here.
"It's been a lot of anxiety and stress making things happen in such a short amount of time," says event organizer Jeff Richardson
Many headliners have ties to Oklahoma such as Johnny Polygon who's now gaining success in Los Angeles. His video premiered 3 days ago on MTV, it started off around number 40 and is now part of the top ten. Organizers say it's just amazing timing that he's scheduled to play the event Saturday.
"I mean this is the place that made me the person I am so I always gotta pay homage, always," says Polygon.
Organizers feel Polygon will be a big draw for crowds plus, it also gives him more exposure. For many fans, it's all about supporting the local independent music scene.
"It would have just been completely devastating if we lost Edgefest and Dfest, and didn't have anything to replace so this is an amazing thing to have going," says Allyson Capparella.
Those putting on the event are hoping for for 5 thousand people throughout the two day event. For those wondering about the name, the event is not free to the public.
The cost is not free but I think it's worth it. I think we figured it out that it's 12 cents a band so if that's too much to handle, then that's fine," says Richardson.
Organizers say they've had no sponsors and all the money for this event is coming out of their own pockets. If this proves to be a success they may have it again next year.
Tickets are $10 for each day of music.
