TULSA - A former Sand Springs substitute teacher will spend the next several decades behind bars for molesting young girls.
Steven Beard, 38, was sentenced to 30 years after he pleaded guilty to 11 counts of lewd molestation and possessing child pornography. Beard also admitted providing alcohol to a minor.
According to his booking report, Sand Springs police arrested Beard in August after the victim's mother discovered inappropriate text messages from him to her 14-year-old child. She reported they were sexual in nature.
The case is scheduled for a judicial review next January.
