MUSKOGEE COUNTY, Okla. - A former firefighter has admitted to starting a number of grass fires in July.

Deputy Sheriff Darrin Berry, of the Muskogee County Sheriff's Department, says 25-year-old Dustin Davis admitted to starting seven grass fires in Boynton July 29.

Berry says Davis, a former Boynton firefighter, told authorities he started the fires because he wanted to be with his firefighter friends.

Officials at the sheriff's department say they are awaiting a warrant to make the arrest.

Berry says Davis will likely be charged with seven counts of arson.
