Today is the day to get out to the polls and make your voice heard.
The polls are open until 7 p.m. statewide.
The primary election is here and the polls open in just a couple of hours.
Since this is a primary election voters have to be registered as either Republican or Democrat to vote for state offices which include many of the big races including governor, attorney general and state superintendent.
There are two judicial races on the ballot which are non-partisan, so independents can vote on those.
Election officials say significantly more voters turn out for primary elections when there's an open governor's seat.
But, even so, they expect about a 25 percent turnout according to Tulsa County Election Board Secretary Patty Bryant, "...that's about 81,000 voters which is kind of sad when you think there's 75 percent that aren't voting."
There are six candidates in the gubernatorial race.
The two Democrats are current Lt. Governor Jari Askins and Attorney General Drew Edmodnson.
And the four Republicans include Mary Fallin, Randy Brogdon, Roger Jackson and Robert Hubbard.
We will have the latest election results after the polls close on 2NEWS and here on kjrh.com.
