TULSA - A Tulsa man has been arrested after an altercation over romantic involvement with a woman led to a life-threatening stabbing.
Tulsa police say 27-year-old Eric Spears showed up at a north Tulsa residence around 5 a.m. Tuesday where his girlfriend was with another man, 24-year-old Devin Maggs.
Spears, the woman's current boyfriend, was at a bar with his girlfriend when she wanted to leave, said TPD spokeswoman Jillian Roberson. He declined, and the woman called former boyfriend Maggs to pick her up, Roberson said.
Upon arrival, Spears began kicking the victim's car windows, sparking a a confrontation between the men on the front yard of the property.
According to Spears' booking report, the victim came back inside the residence and starting vomiting blood and bleeding from an apparent stab wound to his torso.
Spears fled the scene and was arrested around 10:27 a.m. Spears told authorities it was self-defense, according to the report.
Maggs, suffering from multiple stab wounds, remains hospitalized.
