COWETA, Okla. - Attention Muskogee, Tahlequah and Coweta drivers: expect delays on your morning and evening commutes.
Road crews will be installing new equipment on the Muskogee Turnpike Monday night and into the morning that will detect the weight of vehicles passing the Coweta toll booth's Pikepass lane, automatically upcharging drivers who reach a specified load limit.
Turnpike authorities say they're doing this because a recent audit revealed drivers aren't paying their necessary amount.
Crews will also be installing the system in the eastbound Pikepass lane. Construction is set to finish by June 4.
